Ostracoda of Alacran Reef, Campeche Shelf, Mexico

Abstract

The ostracode fauna of the Alacran Reef, consisting of 105 species, exhibits a mixture of 1) reef genera (mostly Bairclincea), 2) platform genera of the. Transition zone (calcareous platforms between the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic). 3) Caribbean. 4) Gulf of Mexico and 5) ubiquitous genera. Reef forms include: Propontocypris. Paranesidea, and ornate Bairdiidae.
