Abstract

The Gatun Formation of the Republic of Panama and the former Canal Zone-N eogene marine sediments cropping out from Gatun Lake to the Caribbean coast- has been a prolific source of molluscan fossils and the object of intensive study for many years (Olsson, 1942; Keen and Thompson, 1946; Woodring, 1957-1973).
