Abstract

The micro-fauna and flora of a Mississippi Delta mudlump sample dated as 15,500 years B.P. (C") is detailed. The age of the sample is discussed with reference to the chronostratigraphic and biostratigraphic problems of the Holocene-Pleistocene boundary. Four specimens of Voarthuyseniella Szczechura (1969) recovered permit some previously recorded forms of this taxon, originally left in open nomenclature, to be taxonomically stabilized into three new species: Voorthuyseniella baileyi, V. greigi, and V. williamsae.
